Meet Drue Pollack . . . the Power Lunch Bunch
Spotlight Member of the Month!

Drue Pollack’s career has gone to the dogs . . . and she couldn’t be happier! Drue and her husband, Peter Einhorn, are owners of “The Fur Seasons” pet resort, a luxury boarding and doggie day care facility in Stuart. Needless to say, they’re both dog lovers. “It doesn’t matter what goes wrong with your day – you hug a dog and you feel better,” says Drue. “And it doesn’t even have to be your dog!”

So how did a former marketing executive and hospitality professional (Drue) and architect (Peter) from New York City end up in Florida, surrounded by furry friends? “We moved here at the end of 1996,” says Drue. “Prior to moving, we’d done our research and training, and had planned to start a mobile dog grooming business when we came to Florida.”

Their newly created business, “Launder-Mutt” took off, and is now the longest-standing mobile dog grooming business in Palm Beach County. They have two mobile units and cover Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

As Drue and Peter got to know their clients over the years, they were asked for recommendations on where to board dogs. “We had a vision of a boarding and day care facility that replicated the home environment,” explains Drue. “We designed a pet resort that would be acceptable to dog owners like us.”

A major difference between The Fur Seasons and other boarding facilities is that this is not a leased building, as many such facilities are. Drue and Peter own the property – a full acre of fenced and landscaped run-around room! They also designed and built The Fur Seasons specifically for the purpose of dog (and cat) boarding. The hurricane-safe building is fully air-conditioned, with seven air handlers to keep the air clean and fresh. Outside there’s a bone-shaped swimming pool, and inside you’ll find a comfortable, homey atmosphere, with 44 bedrooms for dogs and eight for cats.

Yes, you read that right: These really are bedrooms, each with its own décor and custom pet-sized bed. “It’s built like a hotel and run like a hotel,” says Drue. “Every room is cleaned every day.” The daytime staff typically includes the manager, plus half a dozen employees who work (and play) with the dogs, and do the cleaning. There is 24-hour coverage on site.

Every dog has the privacy of his or her own bedroom, and the chance to play inside and outside during the day. Depending upon the sociability of the dog, they can play with other “guests,” or in a separate play yard. The Fur Seasons also offers grooming and dog training. If transportation is a problem, they’ll even pick your dog up in their unforgettable stretch limousine!

This June, The Fur Seasons celebrated its one-year anniversary, and word of mouth is quickly spreading about this incredible pet resort. If you’re looking for an un-fur-gettable getaway for your pets when you get away, call The Fur Seasons at 772-286-8283, or visit their web site at www.thefurseasonsresort.com.
