ConferenceStuart: Make plans now to attend the Ladies Power Lunch's
first Women Empowering Women conference on November 5,
2009, at the Hutchinson Island Marriott. As the region's
premier forum for women, it will focus its mission on empowering
women to be believers in change in their homes, their workplaces,
their communities and the world around them. This year's conference will include two nationally acclaimed
keynote speakers. Rebecca Carswell, author
of The GROUP: An Amazing Way to Achieve Success, Happiness &
Extraordinary Relationships, began speaking to organizations
and businesses about the Power of Interpretation – the ability to
interpret, or think about, any situation you find yourself in, in
any way you choose. A major turning point came in Rebecca's life in
2002 during a near-fatal sky jumping adventure.Rebecca had just jumped out of the plane when the plane
airplane actually hit her at 13,500 in the air, breaking her
back.Doctors told herthat she would never fully recover. She
remembers thinking, “I felt like a victim – angry, sad, depressed,
like there's no hope.”She also began to realize that what she was thinking was
actually creating her reality. So, she began to focus on positive,
empowering thoughts, like “Everything happens for a reason. I
will find the gifts in this experience.” As a result, Rebecca
was ultimately able to resume a normal life. She now combines this
powerful message with improving communication skills in her
eye-opening, entertaining talk for the conference: When Life
Hits You on the Head With an Airplane: Using the Power of
Interpretation. The second powerful keynote speaker, Kim Marcille, is an
authority on strategic innovation and an internationally renowned
speaker and consultant. Kim's 25-year background in business ranges
from Fortune 500 executive leadership to small business ownership.
Kim is founder of Possibilities Amplified, Inc.,and the author
of, The Science of Making Things Happen: How to Turn Any
Possibility into Realty. Her past clients have included
Ogilvy & Mather, Eastern Airlines, Miami-Dade College, Harris
Corporation, and the Coca-Cola Company, among other organizations.
Kim recently drove a NASCAR race car at the Homestead Miami
Speedway racetrack at 135 miles per hour. You can do this and
anything else you've ever imagined, and Kim will show conference
attendees the science behind that ability. Her topic for the
conference will be, Amp It Up!Success Strategies for
Women and Businesses. In addition, the conference has a fabulous line-up of break
out speakers through out the day, including Sasha ZeBryk, Susan
Somerset Webb, Dr. Lisa Grassam and Kim Jones. These experts will
share the enriching skills of transformation and success, sharing
best practices, words of encouragement and life lessons.Forty local businesses also will be exhibiting at the
conference.“Despite the difficult economy, women continue to thrive,
launch businesses, and move forward,” said Robin Delgado of the
Accident Law Offices of Philip DeBerard, one of the committee
members for this event. “All of the conference speakers will
provide the audience with life-transforming experiences and will
motivate, educate and inspire women from all walks of life so they
can make a difference in their life and be the
difference.”Tickets to the conference are available online
at www.powerlunchbunch.com for $10. in advance and $15. at
the door. Proceeds benefit the House of Hope and Treasure Coast
Food Bank. The Ladies Power Lunch initiative began as an afternoon
luncheon for 10 friends and has grown into a calling list of over
300 women and an attendance of more than 80 women at monthly
luncheons. Anne Schafer, founder of the Ladies Power Lunch,
attributes the success of the group to great networking and support
for one another. To get more information about workshops and sessions tailored
